4 Tips For Increased Web Traffic

The internet takes your local business and brings it into a global marketplace. But like a brick and mortar store, getting people in is half the battle. Here are four things you need to consider when trying to get your web traffic up, and your conversions in.

1) Advertise - Paid digital marketing is a landscape that is always changing.  Paid search, display, shopping, video, and that's just with Google. The first step to a successful digital campaign is understanding your goal. Are you looking for increased exposure, or are you looking to convert more potential customers into returning customers? Once you've set your goal, monitor progress and adjust your strategy every month or two.

2) Be Social - Social media has opened an entirely new avenue of communication between you and potential customers. Maintaining an active, and more importantly, relevant social media account is a must for any company trying to make it in the digital age. Understand the demographics of your customer base and speak to them. Offer info and deals that speak to them and they'll come flocking to you.

3) SEO - Search engine optimization is crucial for separating yourself from the pack and getting higher results on Google. The first and best avenue you should explore is making sure your site has highly relevant content to your business. Creating natural opportunities to incorporate industry-specific keywords is going to get your a higher Google rating than packing your site with as many buzzworthy keywords as you can fit. And make sure your meta descriptions and page titles are concise and appropriate. Having a relevant, concise, and descriptive page description and title can be the difference between web traffic and a missed opportunity.

4) Responsive Web Design - In 2019, half of all web traffic comes from a mobile device. If your site isn't responsive (fits the device it's being viewed on) then you're losing traffic and potential customers. Responsive web design starts with building your site with mobile in mind. That wide banner may look great on your desktop, but how's it gonna look half an inch tall on your mobile device. Maybe you should swap it out for a square graphic on mobile. Every design choice you make on your website should first be considered from the mobile perspective.
